Por isso, a contamina\u00e7\u00e3o dos meios ambientais por res\u00edduos qu\u00edmicos perigosos e o consequente aumento da exposi\u00e7\u00e3o a subst\u00e2ncias qu\u00edmicas, tamb\u00e9m t\u00eam sido apontados como riscos iminentes para o crescimento e desenvolvimento infantil (WHO, 2011). Nas \u00faltimas d\u00e9cadas, os Dist\u00farbios Alimentares Pedi\u00e1tricos (DAP), que englobam casos de recusa e seletividade alimentar, t\u00eam sido observados na pr\u00e1tica fonoaudiol\u00f3gica com mais frequ\u00eancia, e inclui beb\u00eas, crian\u00e7as e adolescentes (MORRIS, JUNQUEIRA, 2019). Entretanto, muitos casos de DAP n\u00e3o tem etiologia bem definida. <strong>Objective: <\/strong>To investigate the correlation between exposure to environmental pollutants, such as metals (mercury, lead, arsenic, cadmium), pyrethroids, and organochlorine pesticides, and feeding difficulties in childhood. <strong>Study Population: <\/strong>3-year-old children participating in the Childhood and Environmental Pollutants Project of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (PIPA UFRJ), born at the University Teaching Maternity Hospital (ME\/UFRJ) between June 2021 and July 2022. <strong>Method: <\/strong>The Brazilian Infant Feeding Scale (EBAI) will be applied at the 5th follow-up visit of Projeto PIPA UFRJ. Laboratory analyses will also be performed on concentrations of Environmental Pollutants of interest in umbilical cord blood, collected at the time of birth.
